Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 15, 1929, and was the middle child. His mother was a school teacher while his father was a Baptist minister. The king completed higher education at Morehouse College, and Crozer Theological Seminary while from Boston University in systematic theology, he earned a Ph.D. degree.

Martin Luther King delivered the famous speech “I have a dream” in a march on Washington due to jobs and freedom in 1963.

King’s efforts to end racial segregation and discrimination were not limited to the United States. He also spoke out against the Vietnam War and poverty.
